A Holistic Peer-Led Suicide Prevention Program for Queer and Neurodivergent Communities running from July 2025 – July 2026, run in conjunction with Pride in Swan and Queer & Diverse Pathways
Because gender euphoria and identity affirmation aren’t just empowering, they’re life-saving.
This program was designed by and for LGBTIQA+ and neurodivergent communities. It creates intentional, joyful, and safe spaces where people can connect, be affirmed, and build life tools—without ever having to explain, educate, or justify their existence.
💡 What’s involved?
Running from July 2025 to July 2026, the program includes 18 different themed and regular sessions across the year, offering:
- Monthly low-cost gender-affirming haircuts
- Make-up for Thems & Fems
- Grooming for Mascs
- Sexual health & relationships for gender-diverse bodies
- Financial wellbeing workshops
- NDIS navigation support
- Community connection events and more
Each session is rooted in self-determination, inclusion, and culturally appropriate peer support. This is care that extends beyond crisis—it nurtures identity, joy, community, and the right to thrive in your truth.
Led by community, for community. Euphoria Saves Lives if brought to you by Queer and Diverse Pathways and Pride in Swan in partnership with grassroots groups including: Neami National, Sister Projects, Banks Bookkeeping, Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ), and Perth Inner City Youth Services (PICYS).
✂️ Kicking Off: Affirming Haircuts
Our first offering is a monthly affirming haircut program running once a month on a Sunday starting from July.
We have partnered with a local hairdresser who is part of the LGBTIQA+ community to provide discount haircuts in a private, safe and affirming location. These haircuts will usually be done on the 3rd Sunday of each month between 9am and 3pm. These haircuts are all about providing a safe and affirming place to help you feel comfortable. They are open to all LGBTIQA+ and Neurodivergent members of the community but are particularly good for those who are questioning their gender presentation and just need a private, judgment free zone.
We are taking up to 6 bookings each day. There is a cost of $50 to cover rent and other incidentals however due to generous donations we are offering up to 3 places each time on a pay what you can basis for those who need it with no questions or judgement.
What you get:
- A wash and haircut (obviously)
- Advice on your hair and how to manage it
- A safe place where you can be who you are
- Changing facilities are availed for anyone who would like to change before or after your haircut.
Come and enjoy a fresh cut in a secure, affirming environment where gender-diverse people can just be themselves, get styling advice, and feel seen.
💰 Cost: $50 (or pay-what-you-can – free and discounted spots available)
