Our first offering is a monthly affirming haircut program running once a month on a Sunday starting from July.
We have partnered with a local hairdresser who is part of the LGBTIQA+ community to provide discount haircuts in a private, safe and affirming location. These haircuts will usually be done on the 3rd Sunday of each month between 9am and 3pm. These haircuts are all about providing a safe and affirming place to help you feel comfortable. They are open to all LGBTIQA+ and Neurodivergent members of the community but are particularly good for those who are questioning their gender presentation and just need a private, judgment free zone.
We are taking up to 6 bookings each day. There is a cost of $50 to cover rent and other incidentals however due to generous donations we are offering up to 3 places each time on a pay what you can basis for those who need it with no questions or judgement.
What you get:
- A wash and haircut (obviously)
- Advice on your hair and how to manage it
- A safe place where you can be who you are
- Changing facilities are availed for anyone who would like to change before or after your haircut.
