Celebrate creativity, courage, and community through performance!
As part of the Pride Swan Festival, we’re excited to host a series of community participation events celebrating talent, creativity, and self-expression. Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or you’re a seasoned performer, there’s a space for you to shine!
Our participation events include:
🌈 Open Stage Variety Show (2:30 – 3:30 PM)
A fun and welcoming showcase open to anyone aged 12 and over. From singing to spoken word, dance, comedy, or something entirely unique – this is your chance to share your talents with the community. Each act is up to 5 minutes long. Performers under 18 will need parent/guardian consent and supervision. While there are no prizes, participating groups will receive a small thank-you gift.
💃 Amateur Drag & Burlesque Competition (7:00 – 7:45 PM)
A fabulous, family-friendly event designed to showcase emerging performers who are new to the stage.
- Performance time: Up to 7 minutes per act
- Eligibility: Open to drag or burlesque performers (burlesque must be performed to bathers or similar attire) who have been performing for less than 3 years and who have not won any professional competitions.
- Prizes:
🥇 1st Place – $250 + Title Trophy
🥈 2nd Place – $100
🥉 3rd Place – $50
This is the perfect opportunity to step into the spotlight and gain performance experience in a supportive, celebratory environment.
👑 Professional Drag & Burlesque Competition (8:00 – 8:45 PM)
An electrifying showcase of established talent – the highlight of the evening!
- Performance time: Up to 10 minutes per act
- Eligibility: Open to drag or burlesque performers (burlesque must be performed to bathers or similar attire) who have been performing for more than 3 years or who have won professional competitions.
- Prizes:
🥇 1st Place – $400 + Title Trophy
🥈 2nd Place – $200
🥉 3rd Place – $100
This competition celebrates the artistry, skill, and stagecraft of professional performers, giving audiences a family-friendly evening full of glamour, charisma, and fierce talent.
